Song Circle Details
The Lyons, Colorado Song Circle began in the Fall of 2019 with a small group of women who loved to sing. This group has grown organically and was an anchor for many through Covid when the circle would gather by an outdoor fire through winters and receive the nourishment and health benefits of community together in song. The Lyons Song Circle has bloomed into a space for women to share songs from different cultures and traditions, cultivate confidence in one’s voice, and create resonate connection with self, other and the natural world in which we live. We gather on Saturdays at various locations from 10:30 - 12:00 as song catchers, keepers, and weavers to sing the world and ourselves awake.
Song Circle Hostess: Ashley Johnson
Ashley Johnson is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter. She has been facilitating music and movement classes for nearly 20 years. Ashley’s classes and workshops crack open constrictive patterns, inspire freedom in the body and mind and cultivate an expanded sense of creative possibilities. Her playful and integrative approach to creating community through singing and dancing catalyzes a transformative experience for participants that results in an enlivened sense of well being.
She is a co-founder of The Vibrance Collective and is the founder of the Lyons Song Circle which meets every Saturday to keep the tradition of community singing alive.
What does it mean to be human ~ in a body that is an instrument ~ in a world that is a song?
